What are the take away moments from the first round of World Cup games. Well let’s start with the incredibly obvious….

The modern day GOAT had held the World Cup and wants more. You can feel it in the air. Will he get there? Time will tell, but he looks hungrier than ever!
Ronaldo meanwhile looked like a pale imitation of himself meanwhile in Portugal’s opener. His powers are waning even if his ego is still at 100%. Trying to get to every ball, despite team mates being in better positions and a point rather than three the consequence. Individuality over team, if something doesn’t change Portugal may exit early.
Smaller nations have come to compete and not just participate. Yes, Curacao took a thumping but the joy of their goal in a 7-1 thrashing is a world cup moment in itself. African nations are showing up too with all winning starts Ghana and Ivory Coast making their fans suffer for the the points first. Ca
Haaland and Mbappe make early shouts for the golden boot. France have all the pieces to go all the way to lift the trophy and Norway will no doubt fall into the ‘dark horse’ pick for many.
Scotland toughed out a win, the fans did what Celtic fanbases do and endeared themselves and drank a lot. How far they can go I’m not sure with Morocco and Brazil awaiting.

So wait awaits in this second round of games?
Australia and USA will be a key game in and might be my pick of the bunch after both impressed in their first outings.
Will we see Neymar? Or will he be used to scapegoat a Brazil exit whenever that may come.
Will Cape Verde, Curacao or another smaller nation do the unthinkable and topple a giant? With Verde’s point against Spain, you could argue it’s already been done.
Can the goals continue to flow?
How many managers will Tunisia have had by the time they exit the tournament?
Will everyone stop banging on about hydration breaks?
Will Messi become the all time World Cup goal scorer?
At what point will Ronaldo take a look at himself?
Could England win it? Could we cope with the media frenzy?
